Poetry Page

It's been a while, since I've had a poetry page on my site. I don't really know why I would make that choice, since I started in poetry (writing them at 7 and competing in them at 11...and my first public reading was a poetry reading at 19). It's always been a passion of mine. Still, the poetry page is coming back. I've got a couple of poetry books out there, plus a bunch of poems that aren't published. For all the lovers of poetry...happy reading.

2008 EPPIE finalist

Phaze In Verse cover art created by Debi Lewis

PHAZE IN VERSE is a wonderful collection of poetry about love, sex and eroticism. It's definitely a must-read, and EPPIE 2008 finalist. Details on this release are forthcoming, but I would state late July or August as a time-frame for release.

And one of my award-winning poems to whet your appetite...

The Submariner's Wife
#7 poem of the year, P&E Polling 2004

When I see the waves
Crash up the Beach,
You are so close,
Yet out of reach.

When I feel the wind
Up off the sea,
I imagine your touch.
Oh, foolish me!

The roar of the waves
Hides your laugh.
I hear it now…
But then, it’s passed.

The sailor’s wife
Treads up and down
Turning the rocks on the shore
To the sand on the ground.

The sailor’s wife
Has the sailor’s wife’s fears
And fills up the ocean

With bitter salt tears.
